Morgan joined the club in late December 2002 from Doncaster Rovers.
He had previously played for Tranmere Rovers and represented Wales at Under 21 level.
Although he came to the club as a centre midfielder Jim Harvey began playing him at right back / right wing back depending on the formation being employed.
Alan failed to impress the Morecambe faithful in his first few games for the club and was often used as a scapegoat upon bad results for the team.
He never managed to reach full fitness at the club and Jim Harvey decided his services were no longer required at the end of the 2002/2003 season.
