Profile
Jamie Murphy joined the club before the start of the 2000/2001 season from Halifax Town where he gained a Conference winners medal with the Shaymen.

Murphy is a no nonsense centre back who was a solid member of Morecambe's squad since his arrival.

Although not always a regular in the starting eleven he rarely put a foot wrong when he was called upon by the manager.

Murphy was also used as an emergency striker with a decent level of success.

He scored the winner against Leigh RMI in the 2002/2003 season deep into injury time when it looked like Morecambe were going to have to settle for a point against the 10 men of Leigh. Murphy rose above his marker from a corner to head the ball into the back of the net and secure the three points for The Shrimps.

He unfortunately missed the decisive penalty against Dagenham & Redbridge in the playoff semi final second leg at Christie Park in 2002/2003 but the club retained his services for the following campaign. Murphy was released at the end of the 2003/2004 season.
