Profile
Craig Stanley agreed terms on a two-year deal at Christie Park in the Summer of 2006.
Stanley, who began his career with Walsall, was an integral member of the Hereford United side that clinched promotion to the Football League after play-off victories over the Shrimps and Halifax Town in the 2005/2006 season.
Described as a "box to box player who always gives 100%,'' Stanley, upon joining the Shrimps, said he was looking forward to meeting up with his new team mates.
He said: "I couldn't agree terms with Hereford and when Sammy McIlroy showed an interest in me I was extremely interested.
"I played in both games against Morecambe in the play-off semi-finals and I know they are a club intent on reaching the Football League. I have always liked the way they try to play football and I think the way they play will suit my style.
"Sammy McIlroy really sold the club to me. He is very ambitious for the club and I can't wait to get started.''
His move to Morecambe was justified as the Shrimps won promotion to the Football League in Craig's first season to make it back to back promotions from the Conference for Stanley.
