Giant Dublin-born goalkeeper who signed a new two year contract on the final day of the 2013/14 season much to the delight of the Morecambe fans. Barry joined the Shrimps after opting to leave Chesterfield in the close season of 2009 despite being an almost ever present for the Spireites for two seasons and has proved to be one of Sammy McIlroy's best signings, sweeping the board at the club's player of the year awards for two seasons running.
Barry joined Leeds Utd as a school boy and was due to sign as an apprentice until Paul Hart moved to Nottingham Forest and asked him to go with him. It didn't take Barry long to taste league football for the first time when at the age of eighteen he was forced to come off the bench to replace David Beasant was sent off and Barry saved the resulting penalty. After several seasons knocking on the door of the first team at Forest he made the switch to Chesterfield where he made more than 140 appearances before moving to Morecambe.
