Player Stats

Experienced wide man with more than 300 Football League appearances who signed for Morecambe in the summer of 2011 after being released by Rotherham.

Ellison started his career in non-league football, playing for Southport, Chorley, Conwy United and Altrincham before joining Leicester City for £50,000 in 2001.

Ellison only played one game for the Foxes and moved to Stockport County and then Chester City before a £100,000 move to Hull City in January 2005.

In 2006 he joined Tranmere Rovers for an undisclosed fee and a year later returned to Chester City, staying in the Football League with a move to Rotherham when City were relegated.

The winger played more than 60 games for the Millers before being released at the end of the 2010-11 season.

Ellison was then surprised by a knock on the door from then newly appointed Shrimps manager Jim Bentley who made the wide man his first signing as Shrimps manager.

Ellison has since become a crowd favourite at the Globe Arena regularly getting on the scoresheet.
