Morecambe 2, Plymouth 2 (full time)

MORECAMBE failed to ened the season at the Globe on a high as a late Daren Purse goal rovved them of three points.

Purse was in the right place at the right time to head a Barry Roche clearance into the empty net after the Morecambe keeper's poor punch landed directly on to his head.

Luke Young gave the Pilgrims the lead in only the third minute of the game when he was allowed a free run on goal after Danny Carlton lost possession and the young wide man produced a final shot that took a deflection and beat Roche to his left.

Plymouth went close to a second through midfielder Ladjie Soujouna who missed an open goal on 22 minutes before the home side came back into the game in the second half.

Jordan Burrow made it 1-1 on 55 minutes when he headed home an excellent right wing cross from Izak Reid past Ollie Chenoweth from three yards out.

The goal sparked Morecambe into life and they took the lead on 71 minutes when substitute Lewis Alessandra ran on to a long through ball and chipped over the head of Chenoweth who raced from his goal.

Izak Reid returns to the Shrimps' starting line up for the final home game of the season this afternoon.

Reid comes in for Niall Cowperthwaite who drops to the bench.
