Shrimps kick off season in style

THE Shrimpsenjoyed a dream start to the season with three goals and three points at St James's Park on Saturday.
Two goals from Andy Fleming and one from Izak Reid in the first half saw the Shrimps produce their first ever Football League victory over the Grecians.
Fleming fired the Shrimps ahead on 14 minutes with a fine strike from the edge of the area after a defender's intervention fell into his path.
Fleming then scored a second on 25 minutes with a goal from fully 40 yards out. The Exeter keeper made a hash of his attempted clearance and the ball fell for the midfielder who produced a cool finish to lob the ball into the empty net.
The Shrimps added a third just after the half hour when Izak Reid latched on to Kevin Ellison's through ball and poked home.
Barry Roche's best save came from a first half Alan Gow free kick but the Shrimps' defence remained strong for a confidence boosting clean sheet.
