THREE goals in eight second half minutes gave the Shrimps a superb win at the Memorial Stadium.
Morecambe scored three on their travels for the second time this season and thoroughly deserved the victory in Jim Bentley's 50th Football League game in charge.
Gary McDonald Morecambe ahead on 52 minutes with his first goal of the season. Will Haining's cross was headed into the danger area by Jordan Burrow and McDonald latched on to the loose ball to produce a calm finish.
Five minutes later the Shrimps added a second when defender Nick Fenton was perfectly placed to score from close range after Kevin Ellison had put the ball into the box.
Provider Ellison then turned scorer himself on the hour with a welcome second of the season for him. Lewis Alessandra was the inspiration with a superb through ball and Kevin Ellison and he made no mistake with a sweet finish.
The home side rarely threatened the well organised Shrimps from there although Barry Roche did make one superb save to tip away a close range header from Matt Gill.
There were no goals in the first half but summer signing Andrew Wright went close with a superb 16th minute volley beat Walker but come back off the right hand post.
The celebrations were only spoiled by an injury to substitute Danny Carlton who pulled up just minutes after coming on to replace Ellison and had t be replaced by Stewart Drummond.
