Defeat for youngsters
THE Reserves ended their season with a heavy defeat at Mansfield.A young side held their more experienced rivals for 35 minutes but once Mansfield took the lead they went on to score at regular intervals as the Shrimps struggled to cope with the conditions.
Playing against a gale force wind in the first half Morecambe played some decent football until the home side scored 10 minutes before the break. Unfortunately that goal gave Mansfield a spring in their step and they went on to score two more goals in the first half.
The Shrimps had the wind in the second half but some naive defending proved costly as they were picked apart by a Mansfield side with 10 of the 11 players featuring all having first team experience.
