Bentley urges fans to back his side against Wolves
JIM Bentley is urging fans to get behind his team when they kick off their Capital One Cup campaign against League 1 title favourites Wolves on Tuesday night.
The Shrimps face the two times League Cup winners on Tuesday night looking for a repeat of their famous 3-1 win at Molineux against the same opponents in their first season in the Football League and looking for a quality performance in front of the Sky cameras.
He said: "It is a great tie for the club and it will be a great occasion.
"It is not often we get the cameras down to the Globe and I want to make sure we put on a good show.
"It is a chance for the players to show everyone what they are capable of and I am sure that if we can perform to the levels we are capable of we can give Wolves a good run for their money.''
Bentley is set to be hampered however by news that Kevin Ellison is set to miss the game with a hamstring injury and with Jack Redshaw and Marcus Marshall both also definite absentees he remains short of strikers.
He said; "Kev's injury on Saturday was a blow without a doubt with Jack injured but we can't let it bother us and we have to think positively.
"I say it time and time again but when one door closes it opens up for someone else and there is an opportunity for someone to go on and make a real names for themselves.
"Last year it was the year of the underdog with a League 2 club getting to Wembley and all clubs at our level can take heart from that.''
