"Our biggest game since Wembley''

Chairman looking forward to Newcastle

SHRIMPS Chairman Peter McGuigan is urging fans to fill the Globe Arena when Newcastle visit on August 28th.
Ticket details for the Capital One Cup second round tie have now been released and the Chairman is hoping for a full house for the game.
He said: "We are playing host to a Premier League club and it is our biggest game since Wembley and I hope the people of the town help make it a great occasion. Newcastle are a team that play in front of 55,000 every week and the fact we are playing them shows how far we have come.
"We sold out our sponsorship packages within 24 hours and I hope we get a similar response form the fans to help make it another fantastic occasion at the Globe.''
The Chairman revealed that the club has so far benefited by £175,000 from TV revenues alone - a massive boost for the club.
He said: "We got £75,000 for the first round and £100,000 for the Newcastle tie and that money gives us short term stability but hopefully inspires other local fans to come and watch us more regularly and take our average crowds to over the 2,000 mark.''
