Boss delighted with three points
Morecambe boss Jim Bentley was delighted with the victory over Aldershot on Tuesday and said it was vital his side bounced back after the 3-0 defeat to the Grecians.
He said: “The main thing was to get a response from Saturday.
“There was no-one more wounded than me. We got the lads in early tonight and told them what was expected.
“I keep going on about this fine line but it was a fine line tonight and a fine line on Saturday.
“But tonight we were nice and disciplined, hard working and it wasn’t pretty at times but we got a little bit of luck with the own goal.
“They pushed forward and could have picked them off a couple of times before we got the second goal and the only blip for me is to concede late on.
“I love the lads getting clean sheets, we’ve had quite a few this season and that should certainly have been another one.
“We’re up to 42 points now and people might say I’m negative, but it’s important you put the teams below you to bed before you try and pick off the ones in front of you.
