Boss "sad'' about Carlton departure

Bentley talks about striker's move

BOSS Jim Bentley has passed on his thanks to striker Danny Carlton after he was officially told he would not be a Shrimps' player this season.
The club's Wembley hero has been training with the Shrimps over the summer and played in a number of pre season friendlies in the hope of winning a new deal.
Unfortunately finances dictated a move could not be made and Carlton, who missed almost all of last season through injury, has been trialing with Hyde this week.
Bentley said: "The worst part of being a manager is that you have to make some really tough decisions and I'm really sad that we can't offer Danny anything.
"He's worked really hard in the summer and looks in great shape and I would have liked to have kept him but the money is just not there.
"I'm really sorry to see him go because he is a big part of the club and I really do wish him well.''
Defender Luke Denson has also been told he would not be offered a deal despite impressing Bentley in pre season.
He said: "Luke has done well and is certainly a good player and I would also have led to have kept him but we just can't do anything at this stage.''
