Chairman praises support

Gala draw backing a boost

SHRIMPS' chairman Peter McGuigan praised businesses and supporters who backed the club at this year's gala draw.
A record breaking number of entries for the draw delighted the chairman and said that support would be vital throughout the season.
He said: "It was fantastic to see so much support and it has given everyone a real lift.
"It is difficult for all clubs in League 2 now and it will only get even more difficult over the years with football's finances focusing largely on the Premiership.
"But we have a great belief as a board that we will get things right on and off the field to make the club a competitive one in League 2 that has an ambition of making League 1.
"It won't be easy but the will is definitely there. Everyone is working incredibly hard to keep this club as strong as it possibly can be.
"We are looking for investment into the club at some stage to keep us strong but we believe we are definitely going in the right direction.''
The winner of this year's draw was Paul Clegg Chartered Accountant whose logo will be on the back of the Shrimps' shirts this season.
Second prize went to Queensway Publishing whose logo will be on the Shrimps' shorts.
Other winners were: Morecambe Metals, Furness Building Society, Stephen James Salon, The Laundry Company and Morecambe Community Sports.
