He also served as the Ground Safety Officer at Preston North End for four seasons.
Talking about his new role he said: “I have attended the Globe Arena for a number of home fixtures and I was impressed with the stadium, the friendliness and enthusiasm of the club staff, the commitment of the home fans and the approachability of the playing staff.
"I have a good working relationship with the regulatory authorities and I am looking forward to the new challenges AND working with the staff & fans at the Globe Arena.’’
Director, Rod Taylor, said: “We look forward to working with Dave. He brings a lot of knowledge & experience to this crucial role within the management of the football club.
"We are fortunate, once again, to attract a senior manager to Morecambe with a great CV and the requisite expertise to do a professional job."
Her added: “The club would like to thank to Nigel Webster who stepped into the breach for the club just 10 days prior to the Everton pre-season fixture last year. “He has done a splendid job during his tenure of this demanding role, using his vast knowledge and organisational skills to the benefit of the club and we would like to thank him for his efforts. Nigel is to continue his long association with Morecambe Football Club by remaining as part of the Safety Management Team.’’
