Boss wants response

11 March 2013

We need to be stronger says Bentley

BOSS Jim Bentley says he wants a response from his side against Northampton after their disappointing defeat at Barnet on Saturday.
Bentley said he was "hurt and embarrassed'' by the Shrimps' second half capitulation against the Bees and says his team need to show much more resolve on Tuesday night.
He said: "I was embarrassed on Saturday  by our lack of desire to win a game of football and that wasn't like us. I was hurt by the lack of character we showed and if we don't raise our game against an in form team like Northampton we could get steamrollered it's as simple as that.
"Everyone has to look at their performance on Saturday, players and backroom staff, and ask if it was good enough. There was some frank talking after the game between everyone which is good because it shows it hurt everyone.''
