New deal for Drummond

Midfielder signs new deal

MORECAMBE midfielder Stewart Drummond has agreed a new one year contract.
The 37-year-old Shrimps' legend will once again continue his playing role with that as Reserve team manager and member of Jim Bentley's backroom staff.
Boss Jim Bentley says he had no hesitation in offering Drummond a new deal.
He said: "Stewart was one of our most consistent performers last season and he continues to defy his years as one of the fittest players at the club. He has the experience we need in what will be a young squad and I am sure he will continue to lead from the front on and off the pitch.
"He is totally committed to serving this club both on and off the field and I am delighted that he is on board.''
Drummond said: "I said last year that I still felt fit and had no intention of retiring at the end of the season so I'm really pleased to sign up again.
"I've always wanted to play as long as I can and to do that while getting more coaching and managerial experience at the same time is perfect for me.''
