Shrimps determined to extend run

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley says he will leave his team selection for the game at Cheltenham to the last minute.

Jack Sampson, Andy Parrish and Andy Wright are all doubts after picking up knocks in the draw with AFC Wimbledon at the Globe Arena on Saturday.

Sampson is almost certainly out after being knocked out following a nasty clash of heads with Barry Fuller while Parrish and Wright are having throat and shoulder injuries respectively assessed ahead of the trip to Whaddon Road.

Bentley said: “Jack won’t play Tuesday, we’ve got a problem with Andy Parrish who’s got a throat injury after he pushed into the advertising board and Andy Wright saw the doctor after the sub jumped into his shoulder.

“We’ll definitely have 11 that can go out there and whichever 11 go out there will be disciplined and hard-working and give it their best to keep our unbeaten run going.”

The Shrimps's dwindling numbers are something that is concerning the Shrimps' boss but he says whatever team he picks at Whaddon Road will determined to extend the club's unbeaten run to 10 games.

He said: “It’s early days but my main concern is bodies and injuries because we seem to be struggling with them at the moment.

“We looked a little bit jaded and lethargic at times on Saturday but that can happen with a small squad and they’ve put a lot of hard work in.

"Whatever 11 I play with though will be well prepared and know their jobs and we will do all we can to get something from the game.''
