Keith Hill is manager of the month

Rochdale manager Keith Hill has been named the Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month for September.

With Hill at the realm, Rochdale secured 12 points from 12 and began to show some of the swagger that characterised his first spell at the club.

Hill’s straight talking fits the club perfectly and has helped to lift them into the early season Play-Off positions.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “Keith Hill fully deserves this award for his side’s 100 per cent record in September.

“He is clearly enjoying his return to Spotland with a great start to the new campaign in Sky Bet League 2.”

Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins said: “They say you should never go back! But Keith Hill’s decision to return to Spotland looks to be benefiting all parties as Rochdale have made excellent progress in the month of September.

“The four league wins have all been narrow one-goal victories. But Rochdale are showing the resolve needed to challenge all season.”

In The Sky Bet Championship, Sean Dyche of Burnley was named Sky Bet Manager of the Month.

The Sky Bet League 1 Manager of the Month Award went to Preston North End boss Simon Grayson.

The Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
