Fleming set for Dons return

25 April 2014

Midfielder back for vital clash

ANDY Fleming looks set to make a welcome return to the Shrimps' line up at Wimbledon on Saturday.

The midfielder, who has been impressive in the centre of Morecambe's midfield this season is available again after serving a three match ban for his recent sending off against Mansfield and is set to be in the starting 11 for the vital game.

Boss Jim Bentley is delighted he is available again saying: “Flemmo’s been a good player for us this season so we’re pleased to have him back.

“It was a bit of a silly sending off but we’ve missed him.

“He’s a good player to have back in the squad.”

Robbie Threlfall is a doubt due to illness while Tony Diagne is struggling with a knock.

Neil Ardley’s Dons are in mid-table safety in League 2 with the Shrimps just three points clear of the relegation zone with two games to play and looking to end a nine-game winless run.

Looking ahead to the game Bentley said: “The pressure’s off them. They might just come out and enjoy the day on their last home game of the season.

“They’ve nothing to play for but if it was me I’d be trying to win any game and finish as high as possible and that’s what professional pride’s all about.

“It’s a difficult game, they’re a decent side in good form and they’ve brought a couple of good loan signings in.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game, we need the points and they don’t but I’m sure they’ll come out fighting.”
