Men Utd v Prostate Cancer Day Media Partner

22 August 2014

The Bay signs as ‘Media Partner’ to our Men Utd v Prostate Cancer Day

Listen out for the radio ads over the next 2 weeks in the lead up to our History Tour weekend at the Globe Arena. Lots more celebrities and MFC Legends will be signing up prior to the big day on Sunday September 7th. We already have ex-premiership stars and Internationals with Lee Sharpe, Kevin Gallagher, Luther Blissett, Ade Akinbiyi, Frank Sinclair and Darren Peacock playing for Big Sam Allardyce’s Celebrity XI.
Jim Bentley hasn’t been resting calling up his friends to bring many of the guys who have helped to make Morecambe Football Club the place it is. Danny Carlton, the man who scored the all-important goal v Exeter at Wembley in 2007 is coming out of retirement for the day. He is joined by Wayne Curtis and Jimbo himself from the ’07 squad. The ’95 squad is also well represented with Paul Burns rallying the lads from that era to put the red of Morecambe on again. Lots of other players from both eras have been contacted and we await their availability.
Shanghai Clever FC will arrive in Morecambe on Friday 5th September. They will be at our game v Cheltenham on the Saturday following a training session on the all-weather at the Globe Arena. Their player/manager FAN Zhiyi is very much looking forward to visiting Morecambe again, this time seeing his team on the Globe’s main pitch looking to win the History Tour tournament against Jim & Big Sam.

We are looking forward to a carnival atmosphere on the day with loads of entertainment planned to keep the day flowing. Danny Matthews from the events ‘Media Partner’ The Bay with ‘host’ the day and keep the crowd up to date with what’s happening behind the scenes. We mustn’t however forget that  the main aim is to raise as much money as is possible for Prostate Cancer UK.
Tell your family, friends and work colleagues that the only place to be on Sunday 7th September is at the Globe Arena. Please download the poster and put it up at work. If you need a printed copy please call into Morecambe Football Club and ask that we print one off for you.
