Boss Hoping To Maintain Form Against Top Sides

12 December 2014

Bentley is hoping his side can take their good run of form against the top sides into the game against Luton Town this Saturday

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley is hoping his side can maintain their good run of form against the top sides in League 2 when Luton visit the Globe Arena on Saturday.

John Still's side visit the resort on a high after powering their way to second place in League 2 but after victories over Bury, Southend, Burton and Plymouth already this season Bentley says his team should be confident going into the game.

Bentley said: “We’ve beaten fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and 10th in the league and lost against first and ninth.

“We got second and third coming up too but we’ve got a decent record against the top sides.

“Luton are a massive club and they’ll travel in good numbers.

“It’s the last game before Christmas and hopefully our fans will come out in good numbers too because they haven’t had much football with us being away for the last month.

“It’s got the makings of a good atmosphere and a big game with the two-week break and them being one of the top sides.

“It’s a big fixture for us and hopefully we can get a similar feel and a similar performance as we did last time we were at home against Bury.”

Bentley is hoping to have an almost full strength squad to pick from with Kevin Ellison and Alan Goodall back in contention after suspension and Padraig Amond, Andy Fleming and Shaun Beeley all hopeful of a return.
