Wins vs Top Sides Highlights of Season

Boss hopes Morecambe can continue maintain their good form against League 2's top sides

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley says he hopes his side can maintain their good run of form against League 2's top sides this weekend when they travel to Shrewsbury.

Saturday's victory over Luton added to wins against Bury and Burton have been highlights of the Shrimps' season so far and Bentley is looking for more of the same at Micky Mellon's Shrewsbury this weekend.

He said: "Shrewsbury have a great home record and this will be a stern test

“They’ve won nine, drawn one and lost one, scoring 22 and only conceding something like three goals.

“It’s going to be a real tough one but it’s a challenge we’re taking a lot of confidence in to.

“We are doing well against the top sides and we want to keep that run going ahead of the bust Christmas period.''

Bentley missed his first game as Morecambe boss on Saturday through sickness and admitted it was tough to be away from the Globe on match day.

He said: “It was horrible on Saturday, sitting there not being able to do anything or even watch the game and hopefully I won’t be doing it again.”
