"Burton had more know how than us''

JIM Bentley said Burton had a "Bit more know how' than his side after the Shrimps' defeat against the Brewers on Saturday.

Zeli Ismail’s stunning strike 20 minutes from time means Morecambe are now six games without a win and have slipped to 13th in League 2 and boss Bentley said he could have few arguments with the result.

He said: “I’ve got be honest, I think Burton had a little bit more know how than us.

“They just had that little bit more quality and played the conditions a little bit better.

“They deserved to beat us. It did take a bit of a wonder strike but as far as I’m concerned they thoroughly deserved the three points today.

“It’s one of those days, it’s a poor pitch, it’s a poor day, poor weather against a good side.

“They are one of the favourites for promotion and rightly so.

“We’ve got to dust ourselves down and stick together but we’ll need to make sure we play a lot better than we did today whether it’s in terms of football or desire, aggression and determination.

“A lot of times this season it’s got us results but there wasn’t enough of it today to grind out a result that we need.

“It’s a difficult stage of the season. We’ve seen how tight the league is, a win and you’re looking up and a defeat and suddenly you’re starting to look over your shoulder.”
