Jim speaks about Exeter decision
BOSS Jim Bentley said the referee had no option but to call off this afternoon's clash with Exeter.A torrential downpour before the game left large areas of the St James's Park pitch under water leaving referee Andy D'Urso with no option but to call the game off.
Jim said: "It's a real blow for everyone, the players and the fans, and it is especially disappointing as it has come so late in the day.
"But the referee had no choice and it is just one of those things. The pitch was alright at lunchtime but it rained hard for a long period and the forecast was also poor so we just have to take it on the chin and move on.''
He added: "I feel sorry for the fans that made the journey down and we all really do appreciate their support.''
