Morecambe FC set to inspire the Future Female Game
Morecambe FC Community Sports are delighted to announce a new series of FREE female football sessions, starting on 30th January 2014.
Running from 6:00pm-7:00pm on the Globe Arena Astroturf, the weekly sessions are open to girls aged 13-16 years and offer coaching and development for players of all abilities.

The sessions mark the launch of Morecambe FC Community Sports’ Female Football Development programme (FFD) with The Football League Trust. Set to play an integral role in the progression of the Women’s & Girls’ game, Morecambe FC Community Sports shall drive participation growth and retention, as it delivers free FFD sessions throughout 2014 and beyond.
Qualified coaches will deliver FFD sessions in cohesion with Schools, Colleges and Universities to engage with fresh participants, as part of the new FA Women’s and Girls’ programme. Look out for sessions in your school, or speak to your school PE Co-ordinator. The programme presents an investment of over £2.4m in the next two years from Sport England funding, and aims to reach over 40,000 new players.
FFD sessions aim to provide a relaxed and welcoming football environment, with a key focus on Fun, Fitness and Friendship.
For those who fall in love with the game for the first time, or all over again, there a numerous pathways into the sport at Morecambe FC Community Sports. Whether you wish to excel in playing, participate for fun, combine playing with education, or become a coach that inspires the future generation: FFD is a foundation to go further.
