Digital Media Manager Appointed

20 July 2014

Shrimps announce the appointment of Matt Rushton to the post of Digital Media Manager

Morecambe Football Club have today announced the appointment of Matt Rushton to the post of Digital Media Manager. Matt will be responsible for all of the Morecambe FC websites as well as managing all social media channels. Matt isn’t new to MFC having taken over from Martin Boardman as our match day video man in 2012, he will continue this role as well as supporting the football management with video analysis on our own players as well as opponents. Matt studied Film & TV production at Lancaster and Morecambe College completing his National Diploma before a BSc in Film Technology at Staffordshire University. After graduating in 2012, Matt worked for a media company developing websites and apps for iOS and android mobile devices.

Commenting on the appointment, MFC General Manager Mark Dixon said ‘I would like to welcome Matt to the full-time team here at the Club. He has obviously been around for a couple of years, with the quality of his work and professionalism around the Club not going unnoticed. This appointment is key to our future communications with MFC fans wherever they may be. We have been only too aware that our website hasn’t been the ‘friendliest’ place to visit over the last couple of years, which has primarily been down to personnel and time pressure. Well we can now be judged having made a significant investment to the Clubs infrastructure. Matt has a big job splitting his time between football and the Club’s multi-media, but in Derek Quinn, Mark Swindlehurst, Dave Freear, Mike Williamson and Ian Lyon; he has a wealth of experience behind him to help and support him as he looks to bring about the changes needed’.
