Grimshaw signs on youth loan
THE Shrimps have completed the youth loan signing of Manchester United youngster Liam Grimshaw.The versatile 19-year-old defender, who can also operate in a holding role in midfield, is linking up with the Shrimps after Wigan Athletic left-back Jordan Mustoe arrived at the League Two club earlier in the day.
Grimshaw captained the Reds in the first-ever foray into the UEFA Youth League after previously wearing the armband for Paul McGuinness' Under-18s. The teenager has made two substitute appearances in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League this term.
Boss Jim Bentley said: "We payed against United in a friendly a few weeks ago and Liam was part of their team.
"He is highly regarded and has a fantastic attitude and desire and I am delighted that we will have him with us for the rest of the campaign.''
