Nathan Bondswell signs on a professional contract

The SHRIMPS have signed youth player Nathan Bondswell on a professional contract.

Bondswell is a left-sided attacking player who has impressed for the youth team and reserves since making his debut for the club in a Central League match against Port Vale in March of this year.

He began his footballing education with Derby County’s Academy before enrolling at Lancaster & Morecambe College at the start of the 2013-14 academic year.

Head of Youth Stewart Drummond said: “Nathan has been one of the young players that we have been monitoring for some time and after many positive performances for the college, youth and reserve teams we’re delighted to finally secure such a promising youngster at the club.”

Lancaster & Morecambe College MFC Academy Coach Ian Jones said: “Nathan is a talented player and also very bright academically. He had a few options and we’re delighted that he’s decided to sign with the club, further strengthening the long established and successful link between the college and the club.”

Jim Bentley said “He’s a very good prospect with great potential, he’s done well in the reserves and hopefully we can help him achieve what he’s capable of.”

Bondswell will wear the number 29 shirt.
