Shrimps Need To Get Back To Their Best

Jim Bentley says his side need to get back to their best quickly

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley says his side need to get back to their best quickly as they come up against some of the top sides in League 2 over the next few weeks.

The next three weeks will see the Shrimps take on three of League 2’s top four as they look to bounce back from three successive 1-0 defeats.

Bentley’s side travel to high flying Southend on Saturday before coming up against Wycombe and Burton in the next few weeks.

Bentley said:“We’re playing some top sides and they’re all difficult games but we know we’re capable of beating anyone if we’re on our game.

“We’re in a little bit of a sticky situation at the moment but we’re still in the top seven.

“We’ve lost the last three but we could easily have taken something from them.

“We haven’t for one reason or another but we’ve got to stick together, keep working hard and we need to improve to make sure that we start getting points on the board in what is going to be a difficult month for us now.

“As quick as you can get momentum winning games and getting to the top of the table it can easily go the other way as well.''

Bentley is confident his striking talent will turn things around sooner rather than later.

He said: “We’ve got the firepower to create chances and score goals but we haven’t been doing that.

“We’ve got confidence in them, we have got goals in the side and we’re not getting steamrolled by anyone.

“Every game we’ve lost this season has been by the odd goal.

“We’ve got to take it on the chin and hopefully we can start putting the ball in the back of the net sooner rather than later.”
