MORECAMBE Reserves took the full points in a seven goal thriller against a strong Tranmere side in the Final Third Development League at the Globe Arena on Monday.

George Donnelly cut in from the right and curled into the bottom left corner to put Rovers 1-0 up but Tom McCready pulled a goal back for the Shrimps before half time for the Shrimps. 

Stewart Drummond’s side then scored a second through youngster James Kelleher only for James Rowe to equalise moments later after good hold up play from Kayode Odejayi. 

Aaron McGowan capped a fine week with a rare goal to give Morecambe the lead again on 67 minutes though the experienced Marcus Holness levelled six minutes later from close range at a Rowe corner. 

Mark Hughes then got the winner on 89 minutes to give the Shrimps an excellent win.

Tranmere: Pilling, Duggan, Gumbs, Holness, Hunter, Kirby, Koumas (Omotola), Rowe, Donnelly (Jago), Odejayi, Fanimo. Unused substitutes: Rutter, Moynes, Kubwalo. 

Morecambe: Arestidou, McGowan, Thomas, Edwards (rep Reynolds 67), Hughes, Bailey (rep Roberts 72), Sampson, Wright, Kelleher (rep Pomeyie 86), McCready, Watson. Subs not used: Kitchen, Hilton.
