Jim Bentley full of praise for Kevin Ellison after he scores his 50th Morecambe goal

SHRIMPS boss Jim Bentley was full of praise for striker Kevin Ellison after he scored his 50th goal for the club in the 1-1 draw at Oxford.

Ellison was Bentley's first signing at the Globe Arena and he paid tribute to the front man after the game.

The Shrimps boss said: “His 50th goal for Morecambe is a great achievement.

“He may have been the oldest player on the pitch on Tuesday but he probably covered more grass than anyone else and deserved his goal.

“He’s obviously the player away fans love to hate and our fans love him.

“He’s in to double figures again this season which is a great achievement and to get to 50 goals for a club is fantastic.

“On that evidence I’m sure everyone watching will say he’s got years left in him.”
