MFC confirm the resignation of Peter Cross and Mark Mace from the board of directors
Morecambe Football Club have today confirmed the resignation of Peter Cross and Mark Mace from the Board of Directors as a result of increased personal business commitments. Chairman Peter McGuigan said "Whilst we are disappointed that Peter and Mark have resigned as Directors of the Club we fully understand that their decision is based on increased time requirements on their personal business. On behalf of the Board I would like to thank both Peter and Mark for their commitment and contribution to Morecambe Football Club during their time as Directors of the Club. I am also delighted that they both have accepted the position of Life Vice President of the Club and appreciate that they will continue to support and sponsor the Club."
Mark Mace commented, "It has been a pleasure being a Director at Morecambe FC. Having worked closely with the senior and academy squads, I have experienced and enjoyed at first hand a large spectrum of the professional football industry. Due to the increased commitments within my personal career I am no longer in a position to serve the club with the level of time and energy that befits being a board member of a football league club. I wish all the staff, players and supporters of MFC well in the seasons ahead and look forward to supporting the club in whichever way I can in the future."
Peter Cross commented, “I have had a wonderful 21 years at Morecambe Football Club and it has been an honour to serve this time as a Director. Due to business and family commitments I no longer have the time to give the club that is required. I would like to wish the board of Directors, Jim, Kenny, the Players, Back Room Staff and the Supporters all the very best for the future. I would also like to thank everyone for their support to me during my tenure has a Director. I am honoured to be offered and accept the position of Life Vice President.”
