Jim Bentley makes plea for local support.
SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley has made a plea for local fans to show their support for the club this weekend.
After Tuesday's night game against Crawley attracted a crowd of just 1,098 Bentley said his team's performances at the moment were deserving of bigger crowds.
He said: "We are the country's top goalscorers and have won four in a row and I think the lads deserve more support.
"We are playing some exciting stuff and people are taking notice of us and we are playing a brand of football that people will really enjoy.
"I was a bit disappointed with the attendance on Tuesday I have to admit because I think the lads deserve better.
"This club needs its community behind it, without them it's going to be hard to sustain a Football League club so I really would urge people to get behind us this weekend.
"We're two points off the play-offs and the country's leading goalscorers and we are up against one of the top sides in the league so the more support we get the better.''
