Jim Bentley: We can’t feel sorry for ourselves.

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley says his side can't feel sorry for themselves after suffering a third successive home defeat.

After a 4-3 reverse against Bristol Rovers Bentley said: “It feels exactly the same as the last couple of games here.

“We’ve worked on things but the penny hasn’t dropped.

“We’re going to score goals that’s proven, we’re one of the league’s top scorers, but we’re the worst defensively.

“It’s not rocket science to know where we need to make improvements.

“They’re playing as individuals, there’s no aggression and determination to keep the ball out of the net, it’s just too easy.

“We’re being punished for every silly little error too which happens when you’re struggling.

“There are positives today, in Tom Barkhuizen I think we’ve got a very good player, he’s on five goals now and looked a threat.

“Shaun Miller came in and looked a threat but we know how to put the ball in one net but not how to keep it out of the other.

“That’s the worrying thing. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves though.

“We’ve got to stand up and be men and come out fighting.”
