Boss praises Jamie Devitt's contribution.
SHRIMPS boss Jim Bentley has praised Jamie Devitt's influence this season after the midfielder added another two assists at Carlisle on Saturday.
Devitt has created more goals for his club than any other player in the top four leagues of the professional game with 11, a fact that Bentley says should be applauded.
He said: "Jamie has had a great start to the season and contributed massively.
"The next best thing to scoring a goal is creating one and to have 11 assists already this season is absolutely brilliant.
"He got eight in the whole of last season which was great but to be the leading assist maker in the country so far is some achievement and long may it continue. He's a big player for us and I know he would love to score more goals but what he does and how creative he is means he's a big team player for us and I'm sure the forwards welcome being on the same side as Jamie."
