Morecambe Football Club would like to thank the many fans who have been in contact following a sequence of events that took place in the Home terrace towards the end of Saturday’s game.
As a Club who prides itself on its family image, we are putting all of our resources towards helping identify those persons responsible.
There can never be a place at our Club for anyone whose actions contribute to three of our safety stewards being struck whilst simply carrying out their duty.
Spectator safety is and always will be our number one priority. As with every other Football League Club in the country we are bound by strict legislation and licensing criteria that are laid out in our Ground Regulations.
Whilst Morecambe Football Club is keen to relay to all of its fans just how abhorrent it views the alleged actions of a mindless minority, it would be totally inappropriate for the Club to comment further on the specifics, pending formal investigations by the relevant authorities.
