Jim Bentley was full of praise for his side after their 2-0 win against Portsmouth.
SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley said: "We had a massive win against Portsmouth and it’s been a great week for us.
"I said before the game that Portsmouth are my favourites for the league this year. They have unbelievable players and I have a lot of time for their management and staff but we went into the game confident after the last two games and we had everything to gain.
“We knew how the game was going to go and I thought we defended well when we needed to and we could have scored more than the couple we did because our counter attacking was so good.
"It was all hands to the pump in the second half.
“We had to dig, be positive, back each other up and put our bodies on the line and we did that superbly.
"The back four were excellent and I have to give special mention to Barry Roche who pulled off some fantastic saves.''
