Steve To Lead Side Out

6 August 2016

A proud Morecambe FC fan who is back on the terraces at the Globe Arena after suffering a horrific cycling accident will lead out the Shrimps against Blackpool next weekend.

As well as being a supporter Steve Coburn is a much loved member of the club's bar staff and after spending more than a month in hospital recovering from his injuries over the summer he is now back at work and back supporting his team.

The Shrimps' General Manager, Mark Dixon, said: "Steve suffered serious injuries in his accident and we were all worried about him.

"He was in intensive care for a long period and nobody was totally sure about how his injuries would affect him.

"Staff members, board members and manager Jim Bentley and assistant Ken McKenna went to see him in hospital and he was always in everyone's thoughts.

"We are delighted to see him back at work and in and around the players again at the ground and we’re proud to see him lead the team out.''
