Pre-season Update

6 July 2016

Pre-season enters week 2.

After the first week of the Shrimps’ pre-season programme, manager Jim Bentley said: “It’s been a very good week, all the lads have come back in good shape and the spirit and atmosphere among the squad and staff has been excellent.

“Pre-season is a difficult part of the year with plenty of fitness work and long days, but to be fair the lads have responded well to everything.

“We’ve concentrated on fitness and gym work and we’ve also got the footballs out at a very early stage. The boys are looking sharp and the trialists are showing up well.”

The Morecambe squad is staying over at Ocean Edge caravan park this evening and visiting the Cassius Camp in the Lake District tomorrow morning for a full day 7am - 7pm which will test them both mentally and physically says the boss.

He said: "Their motto is pushing the limits and as a squad that’s certainly what they will do. It’ll be a good day for team bonding and will take everyone out of their comfort zone.

"It will be a long day, a very hard day but at the end of it we hope the lads will have enjoyed it and feel better for it.”
