Kenyon Signs New Deal

28 June 2016

Alex Kenyon signs a new 12 month deal.

MIDFIELDER Alex Kenyon says there was never any doubt that he was going to sign a new contract after putting pen to paper on a new one year deal this week.

The 23-year-old, who has made more than 100 appearances for the Shrimps since joining from Stockport County in 2013, said he was always happy to sign on again and is looking forward to the new campaign.

The former Lancaster City player said: “I was always going to sign again, it was never in doubt and it will be great to meet up with the lads again this week.

“Once the fixtures came out last week I started to look forward to getting back and in the swing of things again.

“We didn't finish off well last season but that is at the back of our minds now and we will be totally focused on what is ahead of us. It's a tough start with some tough fixtures but we seem to be better when we are seen as the underdogs and I'm sure we will be up for the challenge again.''

Boss Jim Bentley said: "We are obviously delighted to see Alex back with us. He is still only a youngster really but has played more than 100 games for us and that experience will be valuable this season.''
