Last Season: The campaign ended with the side in 12th position after their third consecutive year in the division. They started strongly, with just two defeats in their first 12 matches establishing them in a play-off spot in October and November. However, one win in six over Christmas, as well as a poor run in March, meant that top-six challenge faded.
Manager: Adam Murray
The rookie boss has impressed during his time in charge of the club - he took over at the start of December 2014 and in doing so became the youngest manager in the Premier League and the Football League at the age of 32.
Key Man: Matt Green
The striker managed 16 goals in all competitions last season after being released from Birmingham City and returning to Field Mill for his second spell. Braces against Hartlepool United, Northampton Town and Notts County meant he was the Stags' top scorer.

Mansfield Town boss Adam Murray has his eyes set on a sustained challenge for the play-offs or better after his first full season as a manager ended in disappointment.
Despite one of the lower budgets in the league, Murray's newly-assembled men impressed and over-achieved for much of last season, spending most of it in the top seven and some of it in the top five.
However, an horrendous March saw them fall away at a crucial time and they ended up 12th. Murray has kept the bulk of that squad but he did lose star central defender and player of the year Ryan Tafazolli to Peterborough United this week. He has already made four exciting additions.
Chairman John Radford has said he will back Murray to take the club to the next level and the rookie boss is impressing many of his peers around the country.
Although their away form last season was good, their home results were poor with too many draws and only seven games won. That will be a key area to improve if they are to stay the pace.
Murray has already surprised many by actually paying an undisclosed fee for young Bury striker Danny Rose.
Meanwhile, Tafazolli has been replaced by George Taft, a 6ft 5ins former England Under-19 international defender, who can also play left back. And Murray has secured a couple of hot wing prospects in Dagenham's Ashley Hemmings and former Sheffield United youngster CJ Hamilton.
A new right back and a target man up front should complete a highly-talented and versatile squad.
The first team will be backed up next season by a brand new Under-21s side that will play reserve football and try to help youth teamers better bridge the gap to senior football.
Striker Matt Green is likely be Stags' star man and, with the arrival of Rose and a target man plus two wingers, his supply should be much better than this year when he ended up with 16 goals.
With sides like Portsmouth, Luton, Doncaster, Leyton Orient and Plymouth Argyle in there, it will be tough at the top – maybe too tough for a top three place.
But you fancy ambitious Murray will have enough this time around to keep his side there or thereabouts for the play-offs.
