Match Abandoned: Notts County vs Morecambe

Today's game against Notts County was abandoned after 11 minutes after a torrential downpour led to a waterlogged pitch at Meadow Lane.

The referee, Dean Whitestone, was left with no option but to bring the players off the field after 10 minutes after puddles made football almost impossible.

When the rain failed to stop the referee abandoned the game.

Both clubs will be talking on Monday to discuss a new date for the match, the outcome of which will be communicated early next week.

Supporters who purchased a ticket for the game and would like to attend the rearranged fixture must retain their ticket, which will act as a voucher entitling them to entry.

No refunds will be issued until a new date has been confirmed. Once a date is set, Morecambe supporters who bought in advance or at the turnstiles must contact the club shop to arrange a refund.

Notts chief executive Jason Turner told their website: “Today’s abandonment was hugely disappointing but, after discussions with both managers and the match officials, the correct decision was reached.

“I would like to thank supporters for their cooperation. We will keep everyone updated of any developments.”
