Jim wins top boss award for August.
Shrimps’ boss Jim Bentley has been honoured for the club’s fine start to the League Two season by being awarded the Skybet League 2 Manager of the Month award.
Bentley was listed after guiding the club to top spot thanks to four consecutive victories, following on from the opening day defeat at Grimsby Town.
Also on the shortlist were Nathan Jones (Luton Town), John McGreal (Colchester United) and Adam Murray (Mansfield Town).
Barry Roche was nominated for the Player of the Month award following an opening month in which he kept two clean sheets from five matches, highlighted by excellent performances in the Shrimps’ victories against Portsmouth and Blackpool.
It is the second time Jim has won the award after collecting the honour for August 2014.
On receiving his trophy Jim said: "I am delighted to collect the award.
"It is a great achievement for the club and the players and the backroom staff deserve all the plaudits.
"After a poor start to the season at Grimsby the lads have been brilliant and given their all and to get four wins from the first five games was a magnificent effort.
"This award is really for them.''
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Ipswich Town manager George Burley, Sky Sports’ EFL League expert Don Goodman; EFL Marketing Director Drew Barrand, League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery
