Boss explains Roche absence.
Jim Bentley has revealed that Barry Roche has been ruled out of Morecambe’s meeting with Hartlepool United due to a wrist injury.
The goalkeeper is not involved in the League 2 clash at the Globe this afternoon after sustaining the injury in the 3-1 defeat at Cheltenham last weekend.
Jim Bentley said; “Baz hurt his left wrist making a save in the first half.
“He went for a scan midweek and he’s got a tear in the cartilage, it doesn’t look good but he’s going to see a specialist on Monday.
“We’re hoping he won’t require surgery but either way he’ll be out for a few weeks at least.
“We were hoping to give big Dan (Nizic) a run of games toward the end of the season to aid his development, so this has forced our hand a little bit and it’s a great opportunity for the kid.”
