A FAMILIAR name is set to be on the team sheet at the Globe Arena this season as the Shrimps have today signed young defender Sam Lavelle on a one year deal.
Lavelle, 20, is the son of former Shrimps' favourite Ben who had several spells with the clubs in the Northern Premier League and Conference days.
Lavelle, who has played for Blackburn Rovers and Bolton youth sides, has impressed during his time at the club.
Boss Jim Bentley said: “Sam is only young but has a lot of promise. We are looking forward to working with him over the season.''
Lavelle had been with Blackburn Rovers since the age of eight before joining Bolton last season.
He has represented Scotland at youth level.
Lavelle will wear the number 16 shirt.
