ROCHE ‘OVER THE MOON’ TO MAKE 400TH APPEARANCE

7 August 2017

Goalkeeper Barry Roche made his 400th competitive appearance for the club in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Cheltenham Town and the 35-year-old said he was “over the moon.

“Everyone knows my feelings towards the club, I’m not just a player for the club I’m a fan of the club.

“I love it here, my family have settled here and I couldn’t be happier.”

Roche was a surprise name on the team sheet going into the match after being ruled out for up to six weeks after suffering a knee injury in the buildup to the pre-season friendly match versus Lancaster City on 15th July.

Boss Jim Bentley said; “Baz played 45 minutes against Kendal Town on Wednesday with the young pros and EPPP lads and did well.

“I spoke to him today (Saturday) before the game and told him he would be starting and I thought he was faultless.”
