MICHAEL Rose will be the Shrimps' skipper this year.
The experienced midfielder has been awarded the captain's armband after an impressive first season with the Shrimps last year with boss Jim Bentley saying he is the perfect choice to lead the side this season after the departure of Peter Murphy.
Bentley said: "He is a well respected member of the playing staff and gets on well with everyone who works around the club.
"He is a great pro who does things the right way and is good on the pitch and off it and is a player that the younger lads certainly look up to like Kevin Ellison and Garry Thompson.
"He looks after himself and conducts himself well and was a good skipper for us last year when Peter Murphy was out so he is the perfect choice for this season.''
