HARTLEPOOL PREVIEW

3 November 2017

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley is hoping for a good home crowd to cheer his side on in this weekend's FA Cup first round tie.

Morecambe face Hartlepool at the Globe Arena on Saturday and with the visitors set to bring a big following Bentley is hoping for a big home following to get behind his side for what he says is a crunch match.

Bentley said: "Saturday s a welcome distraction and it is a competition we want to do well in.

"It is a big game for us. It will be a tough game but we want to get in the next round because it is a great chance to give our season a kick start.

"We are desperate for a good run in the FA Cup. It is the big one and we need to do everything we can to find a result.

"It's a difficult tie and we watched them last week and they are a good side. They have a lot of strengths and have got their act together in recent weeks and seem to be better away from home.

"They will have a good support on Saturday and they are a passionate bunch and we need to be ready for that.

"We need the players to perform and we need the fans to get right behind us in good numbers. We know the fans were not happy after Saturday's defeat at Forest Green and we accepted the criticism that we got.

"Now is the time for us all to be together though and show a real united front on Saturday so we can do the best we can on Saturday.''
