SHOULD BE A GOOD GAME

24 October 2017

Shrimps’ Assistant Boss Ken Mckenna is relishing this weekend’s challenge when the side travel to Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Newly promoted Forest Green Rovers have won their last two games away at Coventry City and Stevenage and after a poor run of form they appear to have turned the corner.

During the week, Mckenna said; “Obviously their results have improved over the last couple games and having studied them you can see that they’re playing with more belief. Like most teams in the league they’ve got some dangerous players. Reece Brown has good quality from set plays and has pace and power, as does Marsh-Brown. They support the main target man Doidge very well.

“They’ve used different systems and went to a back three on Saturday so it will be interesting to see how they line up against us.

“From our point of view, performances have been mixed. There’s been some very good football in spells but we need to sustain those spells for longer whilst maintaining the same discipline and focus defensively as we did on Saturday.

“We’ve been getting into some good positions and creating some good chances. We just need to convert those chances into goals and then we’ll start to climb the table."
